MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate:
-Carries out design of sewerage, drainage, and water systems, water wells and pumping stations;
-Review plans, checks calculations and prepares progress and design reports.
-Assists in site supervision.
-Visits construction sites to solve technical and design issues.
-Prepares cost estimates and tender documentation and reviews tenders.
-Prepares projects proposals.
-Assists in preparing standard design procedures.
-Assists in preparing technical specifications
-Coordinates design and planning activities with municipalities and other governmental authorities.
-Keeps up-to-data for preparation of cost analysis.
-Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
-Engineering degree from an accredited institution in Civil Engineering.
-Minimum of six years’ experience out of which four years in planning, design and two years in construction of sewerage and drainage works. Use of computers in design.
-Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
-Ability to work under pressure.
-It’s desirable to have good knowledge of the application of computer in project management.
-It’s desirable to possess of a valid driving license.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
-Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary $ 1,216.60; plus a currency adjustment factor (present rate 5.11%), plus monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.
-Contract Duration: Three years including 1 year probation period.
-Leave: 30 days annual leave
-Pension: Provident Fund contribution
-Other conditions of service and benefits may apply
ASSESSMENT METHOD
