'' Performing CPR in dogs / cats'' (sharing optional) - Is it possible to do? when to and how to work? What should we do when the dog distressed? Passes / stops breathing? Can we help? What is the importance of CPR in dogs? Just as humane medicine - resuscitation preserves brain function to return to normal functioning of the heart / blood and breath. What are the signs that DNR? First. Loss of consciousness Two. Cessation of breathing Three. Loss of pulse / heart beat Four. Eye blink reflex loss
The three stages of resuscitation - A (Airway), B (Breathing), C (cardiac) -
Step A - Airway-checking the dog's airways - Are they blocked?
First. Has to put the dog on the right side on a flat surface, stretch the neck (when no neck injury)
Two. Opening your mouth - if there is a factor which blocks the airway has not evacuate bitten while maintaining
Three. Heimlich method can be used (for those who know - quick, tight hug from behind the abdominal area / bottom ribs) while tilting the head down (if no head injury).
Phase II - Breating - breath / soul -
First. Smaller dog can cup the nostrils and mouth and breathe together about 3-5 puffs
Two. Larger dog can exhale directly into the nostrils
3. The small dog / puppy exhalations are short, flat tax more than the times, a large dog (over 25 kg) on the exhalations become deeper and slower
4th. General ventilator rate - one breath every 3 seconds (20 puffs per minute)
Stage III - Search Pulse / heart beat and performing heart massage to maintain circulation
First. Femoral pulse - hip connection to the **** or face immediately above the knee
Two. Heartbeat Search - by folding dog's elbow toward the center rib - where you can feel the heartbeat (on the left)
Three. If there is no heartbeat - should start a massage (clicks) that the intervals between the ventilator
Four. Dogs wide dog can lay on your back, dogs narrow / small / cats have to leave your dog when its left side facing up
Five. Has to press with palm ribs approximate location of the heart about 30 times for every 2 breaths and check pulse off or back too recognized two minutes.
The recommendation is to perform CPR if possible way to the vet / emergency center / veterinary hospital. If you can not - you should perform CPR until return breathable and evacuate immediately to a veterinary center for further treatment and diagnostics.
